Back to work: Claude training and AI use cases in architecture

Archive of the newsletter sent on 28/08/2026. Announcements and offers reflect that date.

I hope you're well. The return to work is taking shape, and I already have plenty in progress. Here's what may interest you if you want to use the coming months to make progress with AI and save time.

This week's topics:

  • Ten reasons NOT to use AI as an architect.
  • Which architectural use cases are most useful?
  • A free workshop: from processes to an AI assistant.

Still sceptical about AI?

If you think AI is a bit of a gimmick, don't know where to start or feel lost among all the tools, take a look at the video I made this week.

I answer around ten questions I often hear in training, particularly from people reluctant to adopt AI or unsure how to begin. You may have some of the same questions.

👉 Watch the video.

My Claude course is progressing

I'm making good progress on my Claude course: short videos with exercises to practise as you go.

I've almost finished the essential introduction to Claude's environment: skills, Claude Cowork, connectors and more.

Now I'm moving on to the heart of the work: illustrating practical processes architects need in their day-to-day work.

A few weeks ago, I sent a survey that received around ten responses. It highlighted some subjects I hadn't expected to be so important and others that were less in demand.

You might have a different view.

Next week, I'll start producing the practical architecture videos. If you want to influence the programme and help me identify the most useful use cases, this is the final week to vote.

👉 Answer the survey.

How do you identify the right AI use cases for your practice?

One of the biggest difficulties practices face is deciding where to use AI.

At first, things are often chaotic. Everyone experiments independently, using their own tools and forming their own opinions. That's normal: it is worth preserving this exploratory phase and letting the team try different uses.

At some point, though, you need to organise that exploration and decide what deserves to become a lasting part of the way you work.

I suggest a simple process:

  1. Identify tasks where you lose time or repeat yourself.
  2. Assess whether AI could actually help.
  3. Prioritise the use cases with the greatest potential.
  4. Analyse the process to understand exactly where AI should fit.

There is still considerable confusion about what AI can do, its limitations and the cases where another tool is more suitable. An outside perspective can help.

This is the method I use with the architects I support. I recently applied it during an audit at a large Paris practice to identify and prioritise AI uses with the biggest potential impact.

If you want to do the same exercise, I'm organising a free online workshop on 17 September.

We'll identify promising use cases, share examples from other participants and look at practical ways of incorporating AI into processes.

👉 Register for the workshop.

Next week, I'll share the use cases selected for the course so you can see which are most popular and promising.

In the meantime, follow my YouTube channel and Instagram, where I publish tutorials and guides for architectural practices.

If you'd like my perspective on your practice's adoption of AI or help identifying use cases, email me and we can arrange a free conversation.
